The Jakarta Elections Commission (KPU) had announced that the pair of Joko Widodo-Basuki T. Purnama won the the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial elections, after defeating the incumbent pair of Fauzi Bowo- Nachrowi Ramli. It is clear that there is no positive correlation between the political parties’ supports and the voter supports in the Jakarta gubernatorial elections.
The reality in the recent Jakarta gubernatorial elections showed that the politicar parties’ machinery had failed in winning the candidates. The political parties’ machinery was not solid, including the militant PKS machinery. The people voted according to personal consideration, not to political parties’ instructions.
